Another Friday night of baseball is really set to go down . Six games are up on the plank for October 18. One will be involving the Colorado Avalanche and the Florida Panthers. The Avalanche are off to a start and Florida will look to slow them downagain. This match will start at approximately 7:00 PM Eastern time.
Colorado has moved 5-0-1 to start out the new season, which includes them. The Avalanche are coming off their first loss of the year in overtime. Colorado will try to bounce back after that reduction with a road upset. I expect the Avalanche to keep to come out strong.
The Panthers have posted a record to start up this season. Florida is currently in region of the Atlantic Division. The Panthers won their final game to end a three game winning streak. Florida will look to build using the other win against the Avalanche that is streaking upon their win against the New Jersey Devils. This will be their very first game back home since October 8.
The Avalanche have had one of their best starts this season, although Florida is hovering about that part that was mediocre. The chemistry has not clicked yet it seems, although the Panthers left a lot of moves in the offseason to attempt to up their game this year. Florida will need to come out fast if they would like to knock off Colorado on Friday.
The Avalanche and the Panthers met up twice during last season. Florida kept it tied through two periods and hosted the very first game of this season. Even though to pull off with a 5-2 triumph, colorado scored three occasions in the stage. The second game was a match that is much closer. Mike Hoffman scored in the later half of the third period to tie this up. Hoffman added two assists, including one about the overtime winner, as Florida won 4-3.
Colorado is coming off their first loss of the season. The Avalanche won four of their past five games by 2 goals or more. Colorado has experienced a really strong showing from their first line. Mikko Rantanen has six assists and four goals. While Gabriel Landeskog includes two goals and four assists, nathan MacKinnon has three goals and six assists.
The Panthers were able to finish out their game road trip with a win from New Jersey. Florida lost their previous two games in a shootout to the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Islanders. Mike Hoffman leads the team in goals and points with three assists and five goals. Jonathan Huberdeau, evgenii Dadonov, Brett Connolly, Vincent Trocheck and Aleksander Barkov have five or even more points.
Colorados special teams was firing on all cylinders to start this year out. The Avalanche have scored 6 of their 25 power play attempts for a 24 percent conversion rate. Colorado has ceased opponents on 14 of their 17 chances during the season, which is an 82.4 kill percent. The Avalanche have a strong penalty kill and do a fantastic job.
The Panthers have set up a team that was special . Floridas power play has scored on 5 of the 23 attempts to get a 21.7 percent. The Panthers penalty kill has also been performing very well, turning off 13 of the 15 energy plays against them, which can be 86.7 percent. Just like Colorado, Florida is still a group that is , therefore they do not give up a lot of power play chances.
These two teams have strong power plays and penalty kills so far this year. The two teams are going to have fantastic chance, although I dont think their will be a great deal of energy plays within this matchup. I anticipate groups to play a role in this game, although I believe that with the Avalanche line, their power play is a little more dangerous.
Philipp Grubauer is expected to get the start in net on Friday night. Grubauer has gone 4-0-1 in his five starts this season. Hes a save percentage of .922 and a GAA of 2.57 through these starts. Grubauer had a record of 18-9-5 during last year, using a .917 save percentage and a 2.64 GAA, that helped lead Colorado into the playoffs.
I believe that Sergei Bobrovsky will find the start in the crease for the Panthers. Bobrovsky has begun this season. Hes earned a .870 save percentage along with a GAA of 3.90 in those five games. Last season Bobrovsky was with the Columbus Blue Jackets, where he had a record that is 37-24-1. He ended with a save percentage of .913 and a 2.58 GAA.
Bobrovsky has not been performing the best to begin this season, although these two goalies are both very powerful. The Panthers will require if they would like to move up the standings, Bobrovsky to bump his game up to another level. Grubauer continues to be away to a start this year and hell look to maintain up this to keep that task that is starting.
The Avalanche are currently coming of the first loss of the season and I feel they will bounce straight back with a road win in this match. Florida has experienced a difficult schedule to start out the year and they have yet to be able to find their rhythm. The starting line of colorado was around for a roll and that I dont think they will be slowing .
BetOnline has the Panthers listed as a -123 against the money line, which implies that Florida will win this particular game around 55.2 percent of the moment. The Panthers are strong, but I do not think that they should be this big of favorites from the Avalanche. As an underdog, Colorado includes a lot of value. In case Grubauer keeps his play up along with the special teams of Colorado can continue performing well, I think this one will be taken by the Avalanche.
